This method is very efficient because it warms the structure (i.e., the floor and inevitably the walls), which retains the heat much better than simply heating the air. In either method, colder water is returned to the boiler to be reheated.
Snow melt systems utilize the same concept as the radiant heat installed inside of your home. Snow melt systems work by circulating warm glycol through tubing installed within or beneath your driveway, walkway, patio or stairs. This warms the material and melts the snow as it lands.
